Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

Today is a very special day to celebrate the women in our lives that helped raise us.  I have the best mom around.  She is a very selfless person that always has my best interest in mind.  As I get older I realize her greatest virtue is patience.  I didn't inherit one ounce of patience, but at least I have her as a role model.  I cherish and adore you - Happy Mother's Day, Momma!

Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon

I'm back!  Okay, first things first... when I left y'all, I was pretty intensely training for my first 5K.  I'm going to put it all out there on the table and admit, I failed.  There is no nice way to put it.  I have no reasonable excuse. Just pure laziness. I'm trying not to beat myself up too much even though I deserve it. I will get back on the wagon.

If we are going to look at the positive, I still attended.  Adriana was true to her word and come down for the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon and ran a HALF marathon.  That's 13.1 miles folks and I couldn't even do 3.   Here are some photos.

James at the 6th mile
I made several signs and am so glad I did. The runners liked them :)  Here's James holding up the "Just Keep Swimming" sign at mile marker 6.   Some people didn't get it, but they don't matter. Get with the times people! (if you don't know, it is a Finding Nemo reference and you should watch the movie.. right now!)

The only proof I was there - I'm the lazy girl on the right.

Way to go. Champ!!
So, Adriana finished with an average around 11 minutes a mile.  Oh, and she was injured... she is my hero.

We remember April 19th, 1995

I hope you are all well and happy - expect more posts from me.
